Hello WWOOF volunteers, we produce artisanal cheesesfrom the milk of our own cows in our family farm at the foothills of the Kaz Mountains. We produce olives and olive oil from our own olive groves. We grow four seasons all kinds of vegetables in our gardens. Our cats and dogs also live with us. In the summer months, we start working in our gardens and animal barn at 7:00 in the morning. In the garden; we have jobs such as sowing seeds, planting seedlings, harvesting, carrying manure - making mulch and pulling out weeds etc. Ecological agriculture is done with the 'no dig' method on our farm and volunteers also have the opportunity to learn in these works they help. In the barn where our cows are kept; we expect volunteers to help us with tasks such as feeding the cows. Here, they will learn about basic animal husbandry. In the diary; we expect the volunteers to help with tasks such as washing the equipment, packaging the cheese etc. along with cheese making, and they will also learn about basic cheese making. In a busy working day, we all work, learn and enjoy together with our volunteers. Our house is big, the volunteer will stay in the same house together with us, in their own private room. We will eat 3 meals together with our volunteers. Cooking with our own products altogether, spinning wool, sewing, playing the piano, hiking are our my hobbies. Table tennis and volleyball are our favorite sports. You can hike and ride a bike in the olive groves and forests around us. On holidays, you can go to the sea, which is 30 minutes away by car.

I spent ten days on my first WWOOF experience at Feret and Gudrun's farm and had a great experience. My days usually started at 7 a.m., mucking out the stalls and feeding the steers and cows, with yardwork and garden work later in the day. Volunteers rested in the early afternoon after lunch. It was a busy time, but not rushed, and I met a lot of interesting and friendly people.

I stayed one enjoyable week at Idamera and experienced organic farm life. During this time I had various tasks such as cleaning the cow barn, harvesting crops like mulberries & thyme, weeding the field, drying herbs, making jam and cleaning the cheese making equipments. I had the chance to meet other volunteers to spend time with while dining altogether. The area is relaxing and you can enjoy your free time around the farm. Gudy and Ferit are down-to-earth and make you feel at home. I hope I can go back again someday. 🌱

My time at Idamera was great! I spent about two weeks helping with the cows (cleaning, feeding, milking), in the dairy room or anywhere else on the farm where my help was needed. I felt really welcome and included in the family - thank you.❤️ I could have spent definitely more time at the farm and it would have been worth it. Gudrun and Ferit really make effort to share their knowledge about agriculture so I learnt a lot. When I was feeling tired from work we found a solution together (changed the daily schedule a little bit). I can definitely recommend Idamera for other volunteers!

Idamera is an amazing place. I only spent a week here, and I had an unforgettable experience— I hope to return again soon for a longer stay. Gudi and Ferit are amazing teachers, full of knowledge and an enthusiasm to share their craft with volunteers. I thoroughly enjoyed learning from the two of them about milk, cheese and yogurt production. It was a joy to work out in the vegetables patches with Gudi and it was an amazing feeling to be eating the products and vegetables they produce themselves. They are clear and concise with their directions and they are very respectful and considerate people. I will cherish the laughs and the meals I’ve had here. Thanks to them, I have been inspired to adopt some of their farming techniques for my own future farm. Their way of life has greatly impacted my thoughts on food production and consumption and I am so grateful for it! And a special shoutout for Lara who is the coolest kid ever! Thank you Idamera!!!

The owners of farm are loving people who really enjoy producing, sharing, and teaching. Gudrun is very hardworking, disciplined, energetic, friendly, and very sweet. Ferit is knowledgeable, always happy to share what he knows, and he is fun to talk to. Playing with their daughter Lara, talking to her, listening to her, painting and drawing with her is so enjoyable, she is a very sweet child. Ferit’s mother is a warm, cultured, and elegant woman; you can talk with her for hours about anything. I will miss all the loving people I met there, and of course Boncuk the cat and Nuşin the dog, and all the animals. And I will miss the amazingly delicious vegetables in the garden, the olive oil and spices, and the yogurt and cheese we made… 🩷
