Theron, Sibel and their crew of 11 dogs are the sweetest. Their place, their presence and energy brought me calmness, laughters, memories and conversations that i will cherish for a long time. They have made me feel part of their family for 2 weeks. Thank your for your interest in getting to know me and listening to my stories. Thank you for everything you offered me. Say hello to mom ❤️ and take of yourselves and the crew

February 2024
We spend 10 days with Sibel and Theron at Urla Hasat. We learned a lot about sheep, olive trees and farm life. We were here early February and spend the most days walking with the sheep, cutting branches, watching the sheep ans planting. Sibel, Theron and Janice are lovely and we had really interesting talks. We enjoyed the meals every day with Sibels homemade bread, soups and amazing Turkish dishes. Urla Hasat is a peaceful place in the middle of the mountains where you can really slow down and rest your soul. Thank you so much again!

I stayed at the farm during olive harvest season. A busy and often stressful time. Days were spent walking the sheep which was most enjoyable and peaceful and then picking olives. It can be tough on your body picking olives but Sibel did her best to make sure our jobs were varied. The food provided was always delicious and nourishing and was a mix of traditional Turkish dishes and western dishes. We also worked for Sibel's brother during harvest time and the family were welcoming and warm and even showed us their wine cellar and tried some very nice red blends. Evenings were for down time or sometimes playing cards with the family which was a nice way to wind down from the days work. Overall I enjoyed my stay at this farm. Farm work is always plenty so be prepared to work but the experience and knowledge gained from this farm is priceless, definitely worth your while. Thank you to everyone at the farm, I will hold these memories close. I wish you all the best.

Sibel and Theron made my first time Wwoofing experience memorable. I was warmly welcomed and given a clean place to stay. I enjoyed my stay in their well built and decorated mud hut. Winter had nothing on me as I kept warm with the wood burning stove installed in the room. I was glad to help out with farm chores ( weeding the garden, taking the goats out to feed, cutting firewood, dressing chickens ) and was inspired by the fact that the couple managed all house and farm chores by themselves with the help of Theron's mother. Even though my stay at the farm was very short, it was the best part of my holiday and I wish I had stayed longer in the peaceful environment. I definitely recommend a visit to the farm.

Sibel and Theron are a Turkish - American couple running a farm on a portion of Sibel's family land. Currently they have sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, a horse, and many dogs and cats. They make yogurt and cheese from sheep and goat milk, and we enjoyed learning to milk the goats while we were there. We stayed for two weeks during olive harvest this year (mid November 2022). Because it did not rain this fall, harvest started late and was mostly picking olives off the ground which is difficult work, hard on the knees and back. Sibel's sister and brother-in-law have a farm next door, where we helped with harvest where olives are knocked off the trees into nets. This was hard but interesting work and we appreciated spending time with Sibel's delightful family. Both Sibel and Theron's mothers live with them for some of the year and cook a lot of excellent Turkish and American meals, respectively. We enjoyed excellent meals, eating with the family three times a day. While we connected very well with Sibel and her family, we found Theron to be quite negative and sometimes difficult to be around. Granted, it was a very stressful time for them so that may not always be the case.

Sevgiler...
